I am that strange person who has a blog but never writes in it, who has a Twitter account but rarely tweets, who has an Etsy shop but never sells and who recently posted a 'blogger's statement' declaring that she doesn't like marketing. (I uphold that statement, by the way, in spite of my 'no sales yet' situation on Etsy.)
My hair looks really blond in this shot -but it isn't. It's mostly grey. I used a warm lighting filter to brighten up the picture a bit and my hair fell victim to it. Or maybe I should pay a visit to my hairdresser?
In case you are wondering, I do sell to real-life collectors and have been for a long time. I also have a day job I really like, I run an Exhibition Hall and that keeps me busy from Wednesday morning to Sunday afternoon. The Hall is housed on the ground floor of an old paper mill and here are a couple of shots for you, one of my little office and another one of the old service lift they used to move the paper stacks from one floor to another. The lift doesn't work any more, it's really just another 'exhibit' from the past.
That strange wooden contraption is the broken head of a paper press. It now makes an extraordinary piece of sculpture, don't you agree? The bluish light coming down the lift shaft is filtered through a glass ceiling and I so love the contrast between the cold daylight and the warm illumination of the interiors!
And this, me lovelies, is my office. The painterly textures on the walls and ceiling are, in fact, stains made by humidity. The place is very damp, being right next to a river and all, and we use dehumidifiers to control the dampness, that can seriously threaten works of art.
So know you know what I look like and where I work. Hey, pleased to meet you! Now that I have started posting I'll probably do it again and again. How often, you ask? I haven't the slightest idea. But I do have several ideas about artists I'd like to feature and interview so, if you decide to follow this blog, you may find in it things that interest you. You may even find yourself in it! Stay -relaxedly- tuned.
